5D Professional Unveiled

Day two has come and gone, and that is actually a good thing as we have a whole bunch of info on the software now. Some items are in detail, some are in point form. A demonstration in store is the only way to do any of this justice ..but we had to share.

What is new:


ExpressMonogram is now in 5D Embroidery and Embrodiery Extra
Family Tree, Portraitstitch, and ExpressMonogram are now in 5D Professional

General:

The general interface has been redesigned:

1. All wizards are now visible on the left hand side
2. Quicklink icons are the bottom of the page
3. Control Panel: the tabs are all at the top now
4. Notes now has an added tab: "Settings"
5. On the clipboard you have an overview tab
6. Zoom controls are now permanently "docked" in the lower right. Always there, regardless of updates, re-installs, etc.

Embroidery Extra / Design Creator:

Split Project Wizard: Auto splits designs up to 2m by 2m (Yes m = Metres) or 78 by 78 inches.
Align multiple designs (Horizontal and Vertical)
Motif Tab that used to be in fabric decorator is now a standard tab on the main page
Shapes is now called Mini Designs and is found in the motif tab
Multi-Select with CTRL Key
You can change satin to a fill now or vice versa
Encore shape with 2 designs
Font preview window
Machine stitch preview window
700 new frames and flourishes. Crop and surround options.
Tooltips on most functions ..tells you how something works on hover.
Buttonholes now added to machine stitches to program
Colour tones: You can now control brightness, contrast, and gamma settings for thread colours ...really cool to see in action.
Lettering snaps to designs (around or below). Has 21 different positions.
Woven is default fabric setting
Encore LINE with 8 line options
Without having to jump to 3D create stitches, you now can see Realistic 3D results as your creating and changing designs essentially anywhere. Instant results.
119 Pre-digitized fonts
Vector Images
Multi-Colour Gradient
Cross-hatch fill for designing lace.
Richelieu Bars ...instantly.
Tapering Motifs
Duplicate
Adjust the Stitch-out order
Mutli-Gradient Colours.
In Design Creator, you are no longer required to be on the edit tab to make changes

Cool Feature: If you design something in a 260 x 200 hoop but later try to load the design into a smaller hoop, it will ask and then automatically resize it for you.

With the background wizard, you can take an picture and place it behind your work space instead of cutting and pasting into Vision.

Vision:

The Background wizard used to be ONLY in Vision, not it has been integrated with the whole system.

Configure:

New background option: Aida Cloth
New choices in themes (Example: Windows XP Luna)
Multiple "My Threads"
Splitting Info moved to Configure.
New look to Send options.
You will find the 5D Saves in My Documents now.

Note! Cutwork:

Designing cutwork in 5D Professional that will work with the new Cutwork needles is now CURRENTLY ready and available ...but its coming ..woohoo!
