Sewing is Growing in Canada - Celebrate and Compete!
by erika on June 05, 2012
Sewing as a hobby is growing in leaps and bounds across Canada, and we are thrilled to be a part of that change. We see the interest especially in our Adult Learn to Sew Classes, where new sewists are jumping in with enthusiasm and the more experienced are eager to grow their skill set with Christine's guidance. Contests are also a big part of how the industry is encouraging sewists new and old... check out this fun challenge from the Craft and Hobby Association!
It's the Great White T-Shirt Challenge, especially for the great white north. This contest has a unique up-cycle spin, which we just love... And it uses the white t-shirt, which everybody has, so no excuses for not participating, folks! Basically, you turn a white t-shirt into an article of your choice, or find a way to incorporate it into your next project.
Categories include home dec, fashion and quilting - something for all of you - and sponsors are many, including our very own Husqvarna Viking. If you would like to compete, please visit the CHA's site for details, or click through to their Facebook Page to enter. Good luck!
