BCSS is a volunteer-based centre. Their heart and soul is composed of the women and men who have already walked in the shoes of the newly diagnosed and who understand their need for compassion and support.

Organization:
CDIA is a registered Canadian charitable corporation. Projects are managed and supervised by an elected Board of Directors. Directors must fulfill a three year term, after which they may retire their position, or stand for re-election by the membership.
The membership consists of supporters who have paid a membership fee of 50 dollars annually. Anyone who donates this amount is automatically considered a member of CDIA.
CDIA board holds an Annual General Membership meeting to ratify decisions, give information to the membership, and receive their input on pertinent matters.

Well stocked lending library for members. All levels welcome, although no formal lessons are offered. Some quilts are donated to charitable organizations such as Meals on Wheels and the Halton Women's Shelter, or are raffled off by other organizations for fundraising.

Patterned after the Quilts of Valor Foundation in the U.S., Quilts of Valour Canada coordinates the desire of Canadian quilters to provide some comfort of home to our soldiers. They suggest themes and sizes, but the end product is entirely the gift of the quilter. These quilts are forwarded to military connections and are then given to our wounded soldiers.

God blesses this ministry with many donations, and practical items. We creatively package and provide them free of charge for groups and missionaries to take and bless others. Volunteers across Canada sew cloth bags, quilts, blankets, t-shirts, baby overalls, ladies knit mittens, lap blankets, and we package baby layettes. These gifts and homemade cloth bags are sent to orphanages, hospitals, widows living on the streets, young single moms, children living in garbage dumps, refugees and the poor.

How you can help...
You can sew bags, skirts, shorts and quilts at home to donate. Or look to volunteer your time to sort and pack at the warehouse on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
