New 4D Quilt Design Creator… FABULOUS!

October 29, 2009

4Dquilt_designer.jpg Those of us who saw Trina Richardson demo this at the software retreat fell in love instantly. The new 4D QuiltDesign Creator is fabulous.

This stand alone program will produce outline designs to stitch out in your embroidery hoop or on the quilting frame with the Qbot. Trina inspired us with samples of whole cloth quilting on placemats and trivets, fonts turned into stitches and quilted onto a cat mat, large scale embroideries on fabric which was then turned into a skirt and more. This software has application for every sewer.

If you have purchased the Qbot software recently, you are eligible for a FREE UPGRADE to download. This upgrade will turn your software into the equivalent of the 4D QuiltDesign Creator. If you would like to take advantage of this free upgrade, we have 2 copies of the original Qbot software left. To upgrade, go to your 4D Configure and click update. Download and install to experience a new level of designing bliss!

A Tour of Horn Cabinets

October 15, 2009

horn_warranty_copy.jpg This past weekend we took a family trip to Montreal. One of the hi-lights for us was a tour of the Horn Cabinets factory.

What an amazing place! We learned a lot about the process, from cutting all the pieces of each cabinet, to how the surface is baked on to prevent chipping, to the packaging process. (Annelise saw the enormous roll of packaging, and her comment was "Look at that big roll of toilet paper!") We even got to see some of the new cabinets and features that will be offered on all models. We can't share it yet, but we know you will love what is coming.

Despite the work with wood, glues and paint, the factory was very clean and well organized. It was evident at every turn that quality is very important to the company. They do quality control checks 5 times before each cabinet is even finished. Having seen the process, we are definitely proud to carry such a great product.

A Warm Welcome to Our New Business Friends

hands_shaking.jpg The 4155 Fairview St. plaza continues to grow its creative edge... A bead store has arrived!

We are excited to welcome Bead-Dazzled into the plaza. Now you can add beads to your embroideries and free motion work; try stitching a sheer pocket and filling it with beads, or stringing them onto a cord and couching them down. Be sure to check out Bead-Dazzled and mention we sent you.

We are also happy to announce a working relationship with Nurse Next Door Oakville/Burlington (Lori and Chris) and Mississauga (Lucie and David). Finding common interests amongst our clients and building a professional friendship over the course of this past summer, we are happy to include them in the SewEtc Family circles.
