Button Necklace
I unearthed this necklace this week, and have had a lot of [opportunities to wear it to the store. I've been getting so many compliments on it, I thought I would share how to make it. The instructions are below, and you can scroll through the photos above for a pictorial step by step. You are not going to believe how easy this is!
The How To:
1. Gather your supplies; a beaded chain (they sell these at the hardware store for holding the toilet float, or as light pulls on your ceiling fan); a number of bobby pins (there are so many colours available! I used 17 left over from an up-do); and a selection of buttons with a shank.
2. Fold your chain in half, and slip the first bobby pin between the beads at the center of your chain. Continue to add the bobby pins, alternating on the left and right of center. That way they will stay centered on your chain.
3. Slide the first row of buttons up the bobby pins. Depending on the size of your buttons, you may have to put them on only every other, or every third bobby pin...
4. Slide on a second row of buttons and you're done!
We would love to see pictures of your own versions, or post comments with any additional suggestions.
