** We service MOST makes and years of machines. ** 
In some cases (specifically non-Husqvarna Computerized) we gladly service but do not repair. Please always check if your machine is under warranty and requires a brand certified technician.
Basic =
Less than 2 years since last service and/or minor parts replacement. Includes 3 month warrantee on service. Parts required are not included in service price.
Premium =
Over 2 years since last service and/or machine is out of time, needle bar position is out of adjustment, needs intermediate parts replacement, will not form stitch properly, or needs a Solvent clean. Includes 6 month warrantee on service and parts replaced. Parts required are not included in service price.
Overhaul =
Over 2 years since last service and/or machine is bound, frozen, or machine needs major parts replacement; I.e. gears, cams, timing belt, shaft, hook, needle bar, electronic board replacement, looper, etc. ** A quote may be required in select situations. ** Includes a 1 year warrantee on service and parts replaced. Parts required are not included in service price.
Pickup and Delivery =
We now offer pickup and delivery services for machine service clients. 
$10 for Burlington and Waterdown. $30 for Hamilton and Oakville.
All other locations are quoted on a case-by-case basis. Please note that we do not pickup/deliver cabinet sewing machines unless they have been removed already.

Here's What we do:
  • Clean: interior & exterior
  • Oil & lubrication
  • Parts & movements checks
  • Parts replacement*
  • Minor repairs*
  • Set tensions and test
  • Reset & retest
  • Final Stitch-off** with with quality threads.
Machines: straight stitch, zigzag and stretch stitch on medium stable fabric.

Sergers: 4 thread overlock on medium stretch fabric.

Other stitch/fabric/thread combinations tested at extra charge.
 
Parts and Repairs Estimate Policy
The Tune-up is always completed, if no replacement parts (or less than $35 extra) are required.
    *Replacement parts and Repair Labour are extra at shop rates.
If these are necessary, and more than $35 extra, the customer is contacted for approval of an estimate.

If the customer declines the estimate, a minimum handling charge applies:
    $15 sewing machines, $25 sergers,or we dispose of machine in lieu of payment.
 
Before you bring your machine:
Do you have everything?

  3. zigzag foot?
  4. foot control and cords?
  5. bobbin case?
 
Before you bring your serger:
Do you have everything?
  1. foot control and cords
  2. cone holders
  3. standard plate and foot
  4. appropriate new needles
 
**Note: Repair Department sets up machine and serger according to Industry Standards.
 
Bert's Recommendations:
80 % of the time, if you have a stitch problem, it's a bad or wrong needle.

Come in to see us soon if you feel your machine is laboring, it may need some R & R. You may feel confident that your machine receives the best of care at Sewing Machines Etcetera. We do the work on the premises, with only quality parts.

Bert is a fully qualified, Factory Trained and Authorized Technician, born with a screwdriver in his hand.

Bert has also trained our Staff to properly assess and assist our customers with their sewing machine and serger performance questions.

If our staff can't figure it out, Bert will!

This new update has all the features from earlier update versions including the great "cut jump stitches" feature.

Designer Update Description: Designer I Update 2.24

The Designer I update, version 2.24, is common for Designer I USB and Designer I. Two separate update files are available on the Husqvarna Viking homepage, one for a USB memory and one for a floppy disk.

The new Designer I program 2.24 contains the following corrections:

* Sensor Q-foot operation An issue with Sensor Q-foot operation has been corrected since previous version 2.22.
Plus the improvements from version 2.22 and 2.21:

* Open Toe Free Motion Spring Foot can now be used
Set the machine for Sensor Qfoot. Deselect Stitch Width Safety to allow wide stitches when using the new Open Toe Free Motion Spring Foo(optional accessory 413 03 76-45).

* Sensor Q-foot setting now available on all stitches
Previously only V-menu stitches could be used with the Sensor Q-foot. Now all menues can be used.

* Plus the great feature of version 2.1 The new Deisgner I update, version 2.1 for both Designer I and Designer I USB owners includes 8 special quilting and embellishment stitches (E57-E64). Many of these great stitches were suggested by Designer owners. Plus the herringbone stitch (N37) requested by quilters for joining batting pieces when the batting edges are butted together.

Design Update Number: 2926
Designer Update Description: This update is available to all registered HUSQVARNA VIKING® DESIGNER DIAMOND™ sewing and embroidery machine owners. You need the Embroidery Machine Communication CD, (4D Organizer, 4D QuickFont) which came with your HUSQVARNA VIKING® DESIGNER DIAMOND™ installed on a personal computer, running Windows XP, Vista. You need to have your DESIGNER DIAMOND™ registered.

If you have not yet installed the Embroidery Machine Communication or registered your DESIGNER DIAMOND™, insert your Embroidery Machine Communication CD, (4D Organizer, 4D QuickFont) and follow the on-screen instructions.

DESIGNER DIAMOND™ update version 2926-5144:

* The new update now includes all languages (same as in Designer SE).
* Based on customer feedback we have also made some minor corrections and improvements.
